2021 SWIM & DIVE TEAM OVERVIEW

Ben Franklin Swim Club is the proud home to champion swim and dive teams for children 5 to 18 years old.  We continue to show great success and participation within the Princeton Area Swimming and Diving Association (PASDA).  For 2021, the swim team will compete in Division X while the dive team will continue to compete in Division X.

To join either or both teams you needed to come to the Swim & Dive Parent Information Meeting at BFSC on Tuesday, May 28th.   During the meeting, parents were instructed to fill-out the enrollment application and medical form.  No one will be allowed to swim or dive until registered and paid in full.   If you missed this meeting and are still interested in Swim & Dive, please contact Michelle Morris via the contact form.  We are again accepting non-member applications to join our teams and have 20 participant slots.  Please share the information with anyone whom may be interested.

​​JUNIOR DOLPHIN PROGRAM

We are excited to offer the Junior Dolphin program this summer.  The children will be evaluated at the first practice they attend in order to place them appropriately.  If your child comfortably places their face in the water and is able to stream line off side of pool, but they are not yet able to swim a lap of the pool without assistance then the Junior Dolphin program is  perfect for them!   This program will also run M-F, but only 45 minutes a day.  The schedule information for this upcoming season will all be discussed at the respective parent meetings.

SUMMER PRACTICE

TEAM INFORMATION

Any child under 10 MUST be supervised by an adult member at all practices; children under 10 will not be allowed to practice if unaccompanied by a member adult. Swim meets are typically held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, and dive meets usually occur Monday and Wednesday evenings. The season for both teams will likely begin the week of June 23rd.  Swimmers and divers are encouraged to complete the season and participate at Championships.  There will be a dive team party for the dive team the last day of dive champs.  There will be a separate swim team party on the Thursday after swim champs.  More information will be sent later in the season when schedules are finalized and confirmed.

Parents are required to volunteer to assist with activities throughout the season.  A $50 swim team bond will be applied this year and can be refunded at the end of season party if a family member has volunteered at 3 meets.  An informational form will be handed out at the team/parent meeting on May 28th along with a Q&A session.  The meeting is for anyone whose child participates on the swim and/or dive team. The pool will be open so bring your suits!

We have scheduled a swimsuit vendor to be on site on June 3rd if you are in need of a new team suit and/or practice suits and swimming accessories as well.

To join either (or both) team(s), you will need to fill out the enrollment application and medical form completely at the Parent Information Meeting. If you cannot make it on the 28th, you and your child will be required to fill out the enrollment and medical form on the first day they show up for practice.  The medical form is required for EACH child prior to practicing, and NO CHILD WILL BE PERMITTED TO PRACTICE WITHOUT ONE. If you are employed as a lifeguard working full time or part time at Ben Franklin Swim club, the fee is waived.
